The Colorado Parks & Wildlife instructor manual requires 4 hours of instructional time in one day.
Colorado Parks & Wildlife course subjects

Colorado Parks & Wildlife completion requirements
The course is instructor-led and in person. During class, the instructor assigns one of the official Colorado Parks & Wildlife written-exam versions (A, B, or C) in Triple A Classroom. The student answers the multiple-choice exam electronically instead of using a paper bubble sheet. A 90% or higher written examination score and a successful hands-on practical are required. The instructor records the result in the Colorado Firearms Safety System.
The hands-on practical evaluates safe semiautomatic-firearm clearing and locking-device use, including removal of the magazine, opening and locking the action, physical and visual verification that the chamber and magazine well are empty, application of a locking device, and safe muzzle/finger discipline throughout the demonstration.
What is not included
This is a standalone Colorado Parks & Wildlife firearms safety course. It does not include initial or renewal Colorado concealed-handgun permit training. If you need this training plus Colorado concealed-handgun training, select both authoritative base courses in the Classroom Training Package builder. The Classroom will calculate any applicable package price without duplicating the CPW curriculum.
Important administrative note
Online registration creates your Triple A Classroom enrollment/payment record. It does not replace the required in-person instruction, state eligibility process, sheriff process, firearm-transfer requirements, or any separate permit/license application.
