On 2 November 2024, we executed our “Day of The Dead Pumpkin Blaster” and it was not short of fun, excitement, smiles, and great people.
The Intent:
We started setting up at 8: 30 a.m. on bay 7 at Pikes Peak Gun Club with the intent to take our first customers at 10 a.m. We were ready and on time with food, ammunition and firearms set in, range safety brief conducted, and overhead cover placed. We wanted our customers to enjoy themselves through their entire experience at the range.
The Firearms:
We had about 10 different rifles, 20 different pistols, and 15 different shotguns that customers could choose from to shoot. Calibers ranged from the 300 Winchester Magnum to the .17 HMR. Each of our safety officers/instructors were knowledgeable in all the firearms that we had to shoot, providing the best safety and instruction so customers could have fun in a safe manner regardless of shooting experience.
The Customers:
In total we were able to muster 30+ registrations for the event. Some chose just to support the Special Forces Foundation with the purchase of a raffle ticket while others chose to attend in person for the event and some even took advantage of the Colorado Safety Permit option that was offered.
Customers ranged from very experienced to zero experience. Our oldest shooter on the range was a senior citizen who had never shot a gun in her life. Our youngest customer was an 11 year old boy who had also never shot a gun in his life. We had customers come from more than two hours away, and others came with their spouses. We love all of our customers and we hope to see them again in the future.
Each one of these customers has great feedback and praise for the event. Here are some of their feedback comments:
“Thank you to everyone who put this event on. You were all so kind and welcoming to a newcomer. Thank you for your patience and great advice on how to use each handgun and rifle. I had such a fun time!” – Susan
“Great time! Instructor was friendly and knowledgeable.” – Jessica
“Great event. Great coaching. Lots of firearm options to shoot.” – Keller
“Huge shout out to Triple A Coach in Colorado Springs … If you are looking to get your concealed carry, do it with them – don’t wait” – Cielo (IG: sacredstronglife)
Registration Options:
The general admission ticket was charged at $50 which allowed the customer to shoot up to four different firearms with an instructor. Each customer had the option to purchase one raffle ticket at $10 with the purchase of General Administration. If a customer wanted to only purchase a raffle ticket the charge was $25. Any additional tickets after the original purchase could also be purchased at $20 each.
One customer bought $225 worth of raffle tickets!
All raffle ticket sales supported the Special Forces Foundation and their mission to help former and current Green Berets of the United States Army Special Forces.
We were able to raise over $1000 for the Special Forces Foundation and we are glad to have helped in their mission.
Our Sponsors:
The Colorado Pumpkin Patch donated over 35 pumpkins, Riton Optics donated a rifle scope valued at $480, Vortex Optics donated a red dot sight valued at $280, Mantis donated a training system valued at $250, Klix donated a bottle of Willett Bourbon Whiskey valued at $200. We thank each one of these companies for their support! We do hope they will partner with us again soon.

Summary:
This event was a great success for us and we couldn’t thank those who donated their time, products, and effort to make it happen enough. We also couldn’t thank our customers enough as they are the backbone of any business.
